Home away from Home

The venue is versatile as to accommodate any traveler. The owner is very attentive, accommodating, and professional. The owner responded to all my inquires via email and phone calls on location promptly and concisely. The pictures and description are accurate; the whole condo was clean, spacious, and well maintained. The only physical problem about this venue is upon entering the parking lot, there are deep potholes, but you can enter the back way and there are no potholes.

Notable CONS
On arrival, no paper towels in the kitchen
Every night has a game at the baseball field/soccer field (located
right in front of condo), clears up around 9pm ish

Other than that, everything was great! One bedroom faces the baseball/soccer field and the other faces other condos. Both have tiny balconies... I suppose for smokers, definitely not big enough to hang out in. The bed definitely felt better than a hotel bed and the sheets were clean, soft, and set up nicely just like a hotel. The plasma TV is hooked up and ready to go with a functioning DVD player. Upon entering the condo, you are given WIFI access with a pass code that is good for the whole trip (no re-login issues etc). There is a washer/dryer unit in the condo. This kitchen is truly fully equipped with cooking ware AND spices. This condo offers filtered drinking water through the refrigerator or at the sink, it was yums. The condo has an outside deck which consist of a patio table with 4 chairs and a gas grille- VERY NICE!!

If you're up for a walk, you can go down the street and eat some yummy pizza at Luigi's and get coffee at a local coffee shop. The condo is located very close to the airport that the planes fly right over you, literally. As for attractions, you are close to Balboa Park, the zoo, North Park, South Park, and the heart of downtown (2 miles away and the drive+finding parking can be done under 10 minutes). My only problem with the location is the absence of a national grocery store within walking distance.

Bottom line: If you're looking for a home away from home, this is the place! It has everything from your own washer+dryer to hand soap in the bathrooms. This property is well maintained, and you're also renting the experience of living in a San Diego neighborhood... you get a lively park (one bum, many joggers, babies in strollers, competitive sport teams, and dogs included) in front of the condo and the luxury of all home+hotel amenities in one place.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

The kitchen was a dream. Lots of nice cookware and good appliances. The condo was clean except for the carpet and it was badly stained. A screw was missing from a toilet seat and that was bad. The beds were nice and comfortable. Drain in one bath was very sluggish. There were no rubber mats for the showers. ( safety issue?) And a need for more wash clothes. A call to the owner, in regard to how to get the TV to work, was very helpful and prompt. The description was accurate.

We ate at the Turf a "cook your own meat" place that was quaint and within walking distance. We went to the Zoo but it was raining and we only rode the tram. Visited Old Town, La Jolla Beach, Took a Harbor Tour, Visited the Midway, shopped at a couple of the military bases, and watched the Crusie ships in the Harbor. It would have been nicer if the weather had been sunny. But all in all we enjoyed our stay.

Recommended for: sight seeing

Owners response: Since this review, I've had the carpets cleaned a number of times and the toilet seat has been fixed as well.
